A Strategy to Maximize Their Support

The Fitz Brothers

"It is so easy and rewarding to become a Patron Member, donate land, or give part of your estate to Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever. In the coming years, we hope to increase our commitment to wildlife and Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever."
—The Fitz Brothers, Habitat Legacy Society Members

Growing up in western Nebraska, Howie and Mike Fitz (aka the Fitz brothers) developed a passion for hunting upland birds and decoying waterfowl. This passion was first instilled in them by their father, and it developed further in their teenage years when the freedom of having a vehicle provided them the ability to chase roosters with their friends.

Over the last 50 years, the Fitz brothers have been walking fields for pheasants and hunting waterfowl in the same area that they hunted in their adolescence. This has provided them with the opportunity to observe the negative changes to wildlife habitat. That, when combined with their understanding of wildlife habitat requirements, inspired them to take action.

Recently, their passion for upland wildlife habitat and their interest in leaving a conservation legacy motivated them to take their support of Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever and Quail Forever to the next level.

"After over 50 years of pheasant hunting, we decided it was time for us to give back, which is why we're implementing a multiphase giving strategy benefiting Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever, designed to leverage our impact on the resource," the Fitz brothers say.

"As part of this strategy, we've upgraded our Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever membership to the Patron Member level, joined Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever's Habitat Legacy Society by remembering Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever in our estate plans, and Howie recently gifted one of his Nebraska pheasant hunting properties to Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever via retained life estate. This allows Howie to retain all rights of land ownership while allowing him to realize the tax benefits associated with the land gift during his lifetime," the brothers add. "It is so easy and rewarding to become a Patron Member, donate land, or give part of your estate to Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever. In the coming years, we hope to increase our commitment to wildlife and Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever."

We hope you will join Howie and Mike Fitz in their support of Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever and Quail Forever by upgrading your membership, joining the Habitat Legacy Society, or donating land to Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever. These are effective ways for you to leave a hunting and conservation legacy for future generations.
